Gold’s Big Day
What a ride for gold today! On January 22, 2026, COMEX gold futures surged 1.59% to settle at $4,908.80 per ounce, smashing fresh all-time highs with intraday peaks pushing toward $4,930 in after-hours.

Gold’s Big Day
Spot gold flirted with $4,917–$4,962 across feeds, putting the magical $5,000 mark tantalizingly close—anywhere from $40–$90 away depending on the exact quote.
Gold’s Big Day
The big question buzzing in trading rooms: Could gold tag $5,000 tomorrow (January 23)?
Realistically, the probability is low—maybe 10–20% at best. Gold would need a +1–2% gap up or strong morning push, which happens on breakout days but isn’t the norm. Volatility is sky-high (daily swings of $50–$100 common lately), but psychological levels like $5,000 often see resistance—profit-taking, shorts covering, or just pause for breath.
That said, momentum is firmly bullish. Here’s why $5,000 could come sooner than later (maybe tomorrow if stars align):
- Safe-haven frenzy: Ongoing geopolitical tensions (Greenland tariff talks easing but not resolved, broader policy uncertainty) keep buyers piling in.
- Analyst upgrades fueling fire: Goldman Sachs just hiked their end-2026 forecast to $5,400/oz (from $4,900), citing private-sector and emerging central bank diversification. Other houses like J.P. Morgan and HSBC see $5,000+ this year.
- Technical breakout: Gold’s cleared key resistance around $4,800–$4,900; next stop often overshoots to round numbers.
- Central bank & ETF inflows: Persistent buying from EM central banks and Western ETFs accelerating on dips.
If we get supportive news overnight (weaker dollar, hotter risk-off sentiment), a spike to $5,000 isn’t impossible tomorrow. But more likely? We test it in the coming days/weeks as the rally digests today’s gains.
As always, these moves are lightning-fast and volatile. Stack what fits your plan, but don’t chase at all-time highs without a strategy.
What do you think—$5,000 tomorrow, or a pullback first? Sound off below.

A few examples from our site:
High Grade Silver Ore Slab

silver slab – example only
Nice sawn vein specimen of fresh, unaltered high grade silver ore from the world-class Cobalt Ontario deposits. Sawn on one side only. The deposit was described in Mineralogical Record, Volume 43, Number 6. In general, veins are predominantly composed of carbonates (calcite and/or dolomite) with arsenides and sulpharsenides of Co, Ni and Fe with native Ag and Bismuth. Most of this material has been squirreled away in collections by now, although specimens do occasionally come to market.

There are a few of these silver slabs available. The very bright silver really makes this piece stand out, but, unfortunately makes it all so hard to photograph. As an example the one pictured above is 66 grams for $85.

Silver, Bornite
There are a few of these beautiful native silver w bornite specimens available. Here is a 2 inch x 1 inch, Apx. 17.5 grams – Native Silver on Bornite thumbnail specimen from San Martin, Mexico. As an example the one pictured above is 17.5 grams for $120.
