Costco gold bar sales

Not only are large Banks and individual countries stocking up on gold, but since Costco has been offering 1oz. gold bar sales, the General Public has been making this one of the hottest sellers at the Costco warehouse chain.

These 24 karat gold bars at Costco are reported raking in over 200 million per month! With sales like that, it’s sure seems that a lot of people are understanding the fact that gold has traditionally been considered real money.

Over the last few years the purchasing power of the dollar has decreased over 20%, while so far this year to date, gold has had an astonishing appreciation rate of approximately 31.72%!  The other main precious metals, silver and palladium prices have also gone up 41% and 3% respectively!

Now, before you run out and stock up on a lot of gold bars, keep in mind that even though the gold price has done great so far this year, that is certainly not a guarantee that it will continue to appreciate.

Actually, in the stock market there are a lot of investors known as contrarian investors. These investors make money when stocks and commodities go down. Sometimes when everybody is bullish about a stock or a commodity like gold, and people begin to think that it’s a sure bet, that usually means the price is nearing its peak and there’s a possibility of a substantial retracement.
