Silver Outpaces Nvidia
Silver’s “Moon Shot”: Why the White Metal is Mowing Down Gold, the S&P 500, and even Nvidia! Silver price forecast – Silver vs Nvidia.
If you thought the AI revolution was the only way to see triple-digit gains this year, look again. While the world was watching silicon chips, silver was quietly—then very loudly—becoming the best-performing asset on the planet.
As of late December 2025, we aren’t just looking at a “rally.” We are looking at a historic revaluation.
Silver Outpaces Nvidia

silver vein running through its matrix
1. The Numbers Don’t Lie: Silver vs. Everyone Else
Your intuition was spot on: silver has outperformed almost every major asset class in 2025. While a 70% gain in gold would be a career-best year for most investors, silver has surged by over 140–150% year-to-date.
To put that into perspective, let’s look at the “competition”:
Gold: ~70% YTD
S&P 500: ~18% YTD
Nvidia: ~40% YTD
Silver: 150%+ YTD
Even Nvidia, the poster child for the AI boom, is sitting in silver’s rearview mirror. In fact, silver’s market cap recently crossed the $4 trillion mark, briefly overtaking tech giants like Apple and Google to become the third-largest asset in the world.
2. That Massive Move on Friday (Dec 26)
The volatility from this past Friday, was indeed one for the record books. On Friday, December 26, silver saw a staggering 9% daily jump, catapulting the price to new all-time highs near $79 per ounce.
This wasn’t just a “good day”; it was a liquidity event. In a holiday-shortened week where most markets were sleepy, silver went parabolic. We haven’t seen this kind of single-day percentage move since the height of the 2021 “Silver Squeeze” volatility—but this time, it’s backed by a massive physical shortage.
3. The Week Ahead: Shortages vs. “The Banks”
As we head into the final week of the year, the stage is set for an epic showdown.
The Shortage: We are currently in the fifth consecutive year of a structural silver deficit. Global supply (roughly 813 million ounces) simply cannot keep up with the triple-threat of solar energy demand, AI data center hardware, and investor safe-haven buying.
The “Smackdown”: Many seasoned silver investors are watching for the “big banks” to try and knock the price down via the paper futures market to manage their short positions.
Volatility Forecast: With inventories in London and New York at historic lows, the “paper” price may no longer be able to suppress the “physical” reality.
The $80 Milestone?
If the momentum from Friday carries through tomorrow, the psychological barrier of $80 or even $85 isn’t just a dream—it’s a distinct possibility for this week. We are entering a “mania phase” where the gold-to-silver ratio is collapsing, and silver is finally reclaiming its title as the “Restless Metal.”
Bottom line: Hold on tight. Between the physical shortages and the looming battle on the COMEX, this coming week could be the most volatile in silver’s history.

High Grade Silver Ore Slab

silver slab – example only
Nice sawn vein specimen of fresh, unaltered high grade silver ore from the world-class Cobalt Ontario deposits. Sawn on one side only. The deposit was described in Mineralogical Record, Volume 43, Number 6. In general, veins are predominantly composed of carbonates (calcite and/or dolomite) with arsenides and sulpharsenides of Co, Ni and Fe with native Ag and Bismuth. Most of this material has been squirreled away in collections by now, although specimens do occasionally come to market.

There are a few of these silver slabs available. The very bright silver really makes this piece stand out, but, unfortunately makes it all so hard to photograph. As an example the one pictured above is 66 grams for $85.

Silver, Bornite
There are a few of these beautiful native silver w bornite specimens available. Here is a 2 inch x 1 inch, Apx. 17.5 grams – Native Silver on Bornite thumbnail specimen from San Martin, Mexico. As an example the one pictured above is 17.5 grams for $120.
