Stop Russian GOLD Act of 2022
Stop Russian Government and Oligarchs from Limiting Democracy Act of 2022
There is a bill being proposed in congress that seeks to block the purchasing power of gold coming out of Russia.
However, this bill has such a broad overreach that it could turn any ordinary US citizen into a fellow by doing business with any foreign entity who has touched gold from Russia. The powers and penalties granted if this bill passes are terrifying. (more…)
Well, talk about volatility, here’s a chart of the spot price of gold for the last month:

On March 1, 2022 I wrote“With what’s happening with Russia and Ukraine, I would personally think that we would be well over $2,000 an ounce for gold by now. Sure, gold is a little over $1,900 an ounce as I’m writing this, but, also Russia has just announced that they’re putting their nuclear arsenal on alert!
This makes me wonder that once we see a cooling down of the Russian Ukrainian conflict, we might see a substantial drop in the gold and silver prices. Just perhaps, if such a drop occurs, it might be an exceptional buying opportunity either through stocks, ETFs or the physical metal itself, to get into the market so you could have at least a small percentage of your investment portfolio in precious metals.”
In trading today, March 7th 2022 the spot gold price went over $2,000! (more…)
Fantastic interview! Love the quote “Mr Powell has to feel like a porcupine in a balloon factory”.
The conflict in Eastern Europe is likely to be protracted, and energy prices will respond by rallying even higher from current levels, said Pierre Lassonde, chairman emeritus of Franco-Nevada and CEO of Firelight Investments.
“I think that Mr. Putin calculated that this was going to be an easy, quick win for him, to just roll into Ukraine and essentially put Humpty Dumpty back together, which was what he was trying to do. His plans are not turning out exactly as he had wished. With the Germans now changing tack and saying, we’re going to provide military help, that has changed the possible outcome of this war quite dramatically. The longer it lasts, the more profound the impact is going to be, particularly on the energy market. If this goes on for two, three weeks, a month, I think you’re looking at $200 oil,” Lassonde told Michelle Makori, editor-in-chief of Kitco News on the sidelines of the BMO Global Metals & Mining Conference. A rare form of crystallized gold that the Liberty area is known for. Crystalline gold is the rarest and most beautiful form of gold and Crystalline gold is especially valued by collectors because of its bright color and unique shapes.
Crystalline gold can form cubes, dendrite or dendritic patterns, octahedrons, thin leaf and sheet forms and many other surprising designs. The prices for different crystalline gold specimens can vary greatly. The major determinant of its value is its appearance, not the amount of actual gold in the piece. (more…)
